The
typical understanding of Chiropractic care is that chiropractors help
stiff necks and sore backs. And, though that is true, it is a very
limited understanding of what Chiropractic is about. We know that the
body is a self-healing and self-regulating organism. If it wasn't
self-regulating, we would have to decide when to breathe, when to blink,
when should our heart beat, which muscles contract and which release
and when. Doing any one
of these things consciously would take all our time and effort. And
yet, all of these functions and many, many more, are simultaneously
happening all the time without any thought process from us! Human beings survive some of the most varied conditions of weather, nutrition, physical condition and stress, often with great success and resilience. Why is that? It's not just good luck! I can assure you that the body is a marvel of mechanics, physiology and vitality working together to perform and function and adapt in an everchanging environment. But, we need more than food, water and air to thrive. Thriving means more than just surviving...more than just getting by. To thrive means to have the fullness of life expression; body, mind and spirit working together in service to ourselves and others with purpose! As a Doctor of Chiropractic, helping my patients to enhance their ability to achieve a fuller life expression by optimizing their health, relieving their pain and eliminating excess stress is my purpose and my privilege. That's my body, mind and spirit working together with a purpose so we can each have the fullness of life expression! |

April Showers bring...
April 10, 2019
Dear Friends,
April showers bring May flowers....remember that from school? April showers also bring tree pollens, grass and plant pollens; maybe even mold from the leaky gutters. How about itchy eyes and sinus congestion and some coughing or sneezing? Ahhh, Spring is here at last and we are so glad! But what are we going to do about the allergens' effect on our bodies?
Practical advice includes:

Dear Friends,
April showers bring May flowers....remember that from school? April showers also bring tree pollens, grass and plant pollens; maybe even mold from the leaky gutters. How about itchy eyes and sinus congestion and some coughing or sneezing? Ahhh, Spring is here at last and we are so glad! But what are we going to do about the allergens' effect on our bodies?
Practical advice includes:
- Stay indoors early mornings and twilight or on windy days when the irritants fly around the most.
- Wash hands and faces frequently to keep irritants from sensitive areas
- Refrain from laying on the bed or couch with outer clothing that may be covered in pollens.
- Use a Neti pot or saline spray to wash away irritants from the nose and sinuses. Think about using a homeopathic eye drop (no steroids or anti-histamines) to soothe eyes.
- Drink plenty of water to keep mucus membranes hydrated.
- And, most importantly, make an appointment to see Dr. Mania for a Chiropractic adjustment! Adjustments help to calm your overworked immune system, balance the nervous system and lower inflammation. We can help drain the sinuses, get your lymphatic system flowing and relieve the sore muscles from coughing and sneezing! Don't suffer unnecessarily...check in for a check up and get a jump on Spring!
All the best and we'll see you soon!
