Dear Friends,
Almost every month I look at this page and think to myself, "is
there something worthwhile I can share with my readers?" Sometimes it
is hard to put my thoughts into words; and I never assume that what I
have to say is more important than what you have to say. Which naturally
brings me to the fact that I often receive good or even great
information from someone who comes in for an adjustment. Or someone in
the grocery. Or from a voice on the radio or a person on TV. Then I
share what I learn with others.
Perhaps the point to all this is to look around and be open to
receive great information from the Universe. What do you see when you
look at a flower? Do you notice that the petals are similar; maybe they
change color or shape as they age? Does it make you think of your
Grandma's garden? Does it make you smile? Does it make you sneeze? Does
the bloom last a few hours, days or weeks?
How about looking or listening in a new place? Go a little out of
the way or a little "out of the box" and discover something new about
it or about yourself! Remember that YOU are unique and so is that guy
over there. There is worthwhile information to be received from the
familiar place -- from the new place -- just look and listen. And if you
want to share your new information with me I'm here to listen, to learn and to share!
Office hours are Tuesday,

Conservative care and the opioid crisis
It is not something new for people in pain to seek pain relief. It is not a new thing for people to use medications to relieve acute or chronic pain. And, sometimes, that may include powerful drugs called opioids. Opioids have a place in medicine especially after surgery or a serious injury. But, the use of these drugs can actually change the way we perceive pain and can predispose a person to addiction!
Numerous studies have shown that conservative care ( including Chiropractic) can be much more effective in relieving pain, stimulating healing, lowering the use of opioids and preventing opioid abuse and addiction. Controlling inflammation, gentle motion, rest, counseling/therapy, meditation, acupuncture and, of course, the restoration of motion and nerve function with Chiropractic can greatly reduce opioid use. Click on the link below for a short video on Chiropractic as a part of the solution to the opioid epidemic:

Choose Happy -- Choose Healthy!
May 10, 2019
Dear Friends,
There is a connection between wanting to be happy and being happy; between wanting to be healthy and being healthy! Setting an intention for having a good day doesn't prevent every difficulty from happening. But, it does change the perception of and the response to those things that crop up in the course of our days. We can decide to accept the good things that happen, or that we see around us without saying, "but what about (insert fear or worry here)?" Accepting that we will have challenges to our health, but that many of them can be prevented or overcome with a bit of effort.
Choose to be happy when things go right! Choose to make changes that enhance your health (small things can make a big difference over time)! Choose reality over perceived catastrophe! Sleep more, move more, sing or dance more, laugh more...these things will make you happier and healthier at no cost! Fix little issues before they become big ones...get adjusted!
Office hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9 -1 and 3 -6 and Saturdays 9 - 1. Call 201-525 -0707 to make an apointment with Joan, Jolanta or Debi at a convenient time.

Thrive with Chiroractic
Thrive with Chiropractic
| The
typical understanding of Chiropractic care is that chiropractors help
stiff necks and sore backs. And, though that is true, it is a very
limited understanding of what Chiropractic is about. We know that the
body is a self-healing and self-regulating organism. If it wasn't
self-regulating, we would have to decide when to breathe, when to blink,
when should our heart beat, which muscles contract and which release
and when. Doing any one
of these things consciously would take all our time and effort. And
yet, all of these functions and many, many more, are simultaneously
happening all the time without any thought process from us! Human beings survive some of the most varied conditions of weather, nutrition, physical condition and stress, often with great success and resilience. Why is that? It's not just good luck! I can assure you that the body is a marvel of mechanics, physiology and vitality working together to perform and function and adapt in an everchanging environment. But, we need more than food, water and air to thrive. Thriving means more than just surviving...more than just getting by. To thrive means to have the fullness of life expression; body, mind and spirit working together in service to ourselves and others with purpose! As a Doctor of Chiropractic, helping my patients to enhance their ability to achieve a fuller life expression by optimizing their health, relieving their pain and eliminating excess stress is my purpose and my privilege. That's my body, mind and spirit working together with a purpose so we can each have the fullness of life expression!
April Showers bring...
April 10, 2019
Dear Friends,
April showers bring May flowers....remember that from school? April showers also bring tree pollens, grass and plant pollens; maybe even mold from the leaky gutters. How about itchy eyes and sinus congestion and some coughing or sneezing? Ahhh, Spring is here at last and we are so glad! But what are we going to do about the allergens' effect on our bodies?
Practical advice includes:

How about itchy eyes and sinus congestion and some coughing or sneezing? Ahhh, Spring is here at last and we are so glad! But what are we going to do about the allergens' effect on our bodies?
Practical advice includes:
- Stay indoors early mornings and twilight or on windy days when the irritants fly around the most.
- Wash hands and faces frequently to keep irritants from sensitive areas
- Refrain from laying on the bed or couch with outer clothing that may be covered in pollens.
- Use a Neti pot or saline spray to wash away irritants from the nose and sinuses. Think about using a homeopathic eye drop (no steroids or anti-histamines) to soothe eyes.
- Drink plenty of water to keep mucus membranes hydrated.
- And, most importantly, make an appointment to see Dr. Mania for a Chiropractic adjustment! Adjustments help to calm your overworked immune system, balance the nervous system and lower inflammation. We can help drain the sinuses, get your lymphatic system flowing and relieve the sore muscles from coughing and sneezing! Don't suffer unnecessarily...check in for a check up and get a jump on Spring!

Love moves up
February 14, 2019
Dear Friends,
February is a month when we are asked to think about love. "Love your neighbor as yourself"..."Love one another as I have loved you"..."All you need is love"..."Love is the answer"..."Love me, love my dog"...and lots or other expressions of love.
But we don't always think about the fact that loving ourselves and loving one another often takes a backseat to the tasks of life, the worries and the stresses that steal our joy. Love begins within ourselves and is nurtured by the understanding that we are each and all created of love and are forces of love in the universe.
I would like to ask you to think this thought when you open your eyes in the morning and close them at night, "I am loved and I love myself and those around me". Maybe not everyone loves us, but that doesn't matter. Not one of us would be here if it weren't for the power of love!
The staff and I love you and we love to help you be the healthiest you can be. Happy February...Happy Valentine's Day...Healthy Heart Month...Happy Love yourself month! Celebrate with an Chiropractic adjustment given by a chiropractor who LOVES what she does, and who loves her patients! Can you guess who that might be?

Making Connections
August 10, 2018

Dear Friends,
So lately, I have been acting as "the IT guy" in the office and at home. Never would I have thought of that as a calling in my life! But, I have had to navigate (or stumble) my way through some complex computer gymnastics of late. I'm thankful for some of the people that helped via a phone call or online (though not everyone was helpful). But the reason I'm talking about this is to make the point that new experiences and new types of learning keep the mind sharper, boost interest in the world and enhances our well being.
Maybe in your "technological" life, you had to ask the kids or grandkids for help. Maybe you had to take a class or go on YouTube to figure out some mysterious gadget. Maybe there is a new system at work or a personal interest or hobby that takes you online for information. Maybe you are reading your favorite newspaper or magazine digitally instead of on paper. Or maybe you are keeping track of you health efforts (steps, sleep, food or water) with an app on your fancy new tablet or phone!
Appropriate use of technology is a wonderful thing, just as making the effort to learn something new is a wonderful thing! Connecting with other people to accomplish a task, to get help, to exchange information or just have fun is also a wonderful thing. Connection is the key to our satisfaction and health in pretty much every aspect of our lives. Health, longevity and happiness are known to be enhanced by our connection to others...knowing and INTERACTING with many different people of all ages, stages and abilities enhances our enjoyment of life.
So, as I have been connecting computers and modems and network expanders and printers, it came to me that just as making the technology connect enhances the "well being" of our office processes, making those connections within ourselves and with others enhances the well being of the individual and of society.
Chiropractic scientific research shows us that adjustments assist us in appropriately responding to physical, mental and emotional stimuli. Adjustments help us connect all our parts for optimum function and connection to others! Getting regular adjustments will help you be healthier and to handle your life better! Call today...Office Hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9 -1 and 3 -6 and Saturdays 9 - 1. Call 201-525-0707 to make an appointment with Joan, Jolanta or Debi at a convenient time.
All the best and we'll see you soon!
