Let's Relieve Stress Together!

Dear Friends,
The only thought that comes to my mind as I sit here thinking about writing, is how stressed many of you have been in recent weeks. Sometimes you tell me about a problem at home or at work; sometimes the state of the world weighs heavy on you; sometimes you express apprehension about what is happening in your body. I want you to know that you are listened to and that you are heard!
There is a clear connection between the function of the body and the state of your mind (thoughts) and your spirit. The thoughts that race around in our heads influence the neurotransmitters that direct the body's function. In turn, the way we feel, our emotions and outlook are also affected. I will not try giving a physiology lesson with every particular function and formula, but research in the lab and in practice advances our knowledge of this inter-connectedness. You have probably observed how a perfect cup of tea or the fresh breeze and sunshine on your face will set a mood for the rest of the day -- less tension and stiffness will follow. A smile comes out of "nowhere" and the day is simply better. The physical, mental and emotional realms are intertwined.
Offering you my ear, my sympathy, my advice and the best adjustment I can perform is how I hope to help you, your family and friends to navigate the stress we each face everyday. Please don't hesitate to call on me or my wonderful staff even if you are not sure we have the answer to your stress. We will always do the best we can to help you, to cheer you on or to steer you in the right direction. Let us relieve stress together!

Dear Friends,
Thanks are in order for the many of you who took the time to contact our New Jersey Legislators regarding the proposed merger of Horizon and American Specialty Health. Over 200,000 Chiropractic patients (and their doctors) spoke out about the issue and got the matter dismissed. There is likely to be another attempt sometime next year, but if there is, I know that those of us who rely on Chiropractic to keep us at our best will answer any challenge. Thank you for your participation and support!
I am writing as a cold, wet front is sliding in... The patients have been telling me they feel it their bones! Recent studies have confirmed that weather changes do actually make people feel more body pain and stiffness. We didn't really need a study to tell us that! Maybe though, it feels good to have your perceptions vindicated. Perhaps we should take comfort in the idea that we, as human beings, are very much connected to what happens in the universe, as well as, what goes on in our individual lives.
We are so connected that we respond to the changes in sunlight, to the angle of the earth and the pull of the moon. We are also connected to the energy of others and can affect their outlook and energy as well. Take the opportunity as the daylight hours shorten and the angle of the earth changes, to care for your self and your loved ones with a Chiropractic check up and adjustment. Enhance your lengthened sleep time with a comfy new sleep support pillow! Order new moisture resistant orthotics for those snow boots (before you are desperate). Spend some of your Health or Flexible spending account on something to uplift your energy and enhance your health. The New Jersey Division of Banking and Insurance has disapproved the proposed merger of Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield With American Specialty Health Network. This was in response to over 230,000 emails sent by Chiropractic patients and their families protesting the merger and the likely restrictions on health care benefits that such merger would have brought. Your actions saved the day, by making the Legislators listen to the will of their constituents. Your prompt and consistent actions spoke out to maintain a voice in your health choices. Congratulations in this victory over insurance policy "hocus pocus" designed to deprive patients of necessary Chiropractic (and other) care! It is possible that there may be other attempts to restrict access to needed benefits, but I will certainly keep you apprised of anything that comes down the way. Founder's Day Reflections
Dear Friends,
I am always very reflective in September. I don't really know why. Perhaps it is the memories of going back to school, or that so many of my friends and family have birthdays in this month. I married my husband John in September. And, of course, September 18th is Chiropractic Founder's Day!
It may not seem like that's a big deal to you but, it is a life changing day for many millions of people! When D. D. Palmer (magnetic healer, teacher, writer, horticulturist, inventor and entrepreneur) gave that first Chiropractic adjustment to Harvey Lillard, the likelihood of achieving optimal health through natural alignment of form and function rose by leaps and bounds! We call it "Founder's Day" to honor Dr. Palmer, his son and daughter-in-law, and his grandson. But really, we honor those patients who took their health into their own hands and let chiropractors work with them to get free expression of life force through the spine and nervous system!
Congratulations and Happy Chiropractic Founder's Day to the most important Chiropractic patients in the world, i.e., mine! We can celebrate together with a gentle, intuitive and thorough adjustment!

Dear Friends,
Remember the "It's a Small World" song? How about "Baby Shark" (do-do-di-do-didoo!)? Or, "100 Bottles of"...well you know where that goes. When something gets into your head and circles around and around, it is called an earworm. But an earworm doesn't have to be a mildly annoying toddler song. Sometimes it's, "I gotta call the Chiropractor".
Do you have the "got to call the Chiropractor" earworm? Have you been just that busy that you are ignoring the morning "acheys" or the evening "owwies"? Got to call the Chiropractor. Was that great week at the lake (with the crummy bed) responsible for that tightness in your lower back and the just a little bit stuck neck? Got to call the Chiropractor. Is the constant air conditioner blowing making you irritable and tired? Got to call the Chiropractor. Have you had enough school shopping? Got to call the Chiropractor. Sick of the trek to camp and back? Got to call the Chiropractor.
There is an easy fix to the earworm problem. Call the Chiropractor and she will fix the acheys, the owwies, the tighties, the stuckies, and the crankies! Or at least sing "Baby Shark" for you (that's a joke). For a happier Summer, call the Chiropractor!

Help Stop Horizon from using ASHN to cut benefits!
Urgent Action Needed!
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield is planning a partnership with ASHN
to have this 3rd party company decide what care you need, despite what
benefits you have or the amount of care you and your doctor determine
you need! Triad and ASHN have been sued in the past for routinely
shorting patients of necessary care and denying their doctors
appropriate of payment for that care. ASHN was recently forced to pay up in a lawsuit on behalf of CIGNA patients . Now, Horizon BCBS
is trying to hire them to do the same thing! This can be stopped by your
state representatives and the Governor pressuring the Department of
Banking and Insurance (DOBI) to rule on the side of the patients. Click here to sign the emails to your representatives and the Governor. They will
